Category:Video games developed in the United States[Erythropoietin in multiple myeloma. Comparison of the efficacy of intermittent and continuous treatment].
The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of erythropoietin (EPO) in 23 patients with multiple myeloma. The group was divided into two subgroups: 8 patients treated with EPO in a continuous mode and 15 treated with the same EPO in a intermittent mode. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated based on the effect of the treatment on hematological parameters and the reduction in the overall tumor load. The total number of administered EPO units ranged from 6-32 and 13-105. EPO therapy was found to be effective in all the patients. After a 6-month follow-up, the overall tumor load was reduced by 44.4% in the subgroup treated with EPO in a continuous mode and by 15.6% in the subgroup treated with EPO in an intermittent mode. There was no statistically significant difference in the effect of EPO treatment between the two subgroups. A statistically significant correlation was noted between the initial values of hemoglobin and the number of administered EPO units. EPO therapy was found to be highly effective in the treatment of anemia in patients with multiple myeloma.Potential of the Cdc25c phosphatase inhibitor AZD1152 for the treatment of cancer.
